Description
Watched Lilo & Stitch recently and completely forgot that the backgrounds were waterolour. They're truely beautiful so I copyied one I found on a blog on the net.
I used gouache for this. Could be the reason why the colours came out dull or it could be the complexities of the different types of properties in the paint....anyway! Was fun anyway and I really want to get more into it.

Glad it had that effect! 
Yeah, they went back to their roots in watercolour for it. There are a lot of digital touch ups (richer colours, llighting effects) but they're primarily watercolour of the highest quality.
